Traveling shouldn’t mean giving up your skincare routine.

Traveling carry-on only is an art form. Not only do you have to think about your travel makeup, along with everything else, but you have the daunting task of packing your travel toiletries such as skincare.
Traveling puts a lot of stress on your body. Airplane air is extremely dry. For reference, the average humidity in New York hovers around 60%, while humidity on flights is usually around 20%. That can do a lot of damage to your skin, regardless of your skin type.
Changing climates, flying, driving, being out in the sun all day, by the time you come home it takes a week or two for your skin to reacclimate. However, have no fear, I’ve put together the best travel toiletries to keep your skin and body glowing.
What Toiletries Can I Bring On A Plane?
When creating a carry-on packing list it’s always vital you check TSA guidelines and follow the liquid allowance rule.
- Liquids, gels, and aerosols packed in carry-on must follow the 3-1-1 liquids rule
- Powders and solids are approved
Just because you can pack a full-size product into your carry-on doesn’t mean you should. Toiletries can take up a lot of vital space, so I recommend transferring your full-size products into travel-size containers.
Here is my list for the best travel toiletries
Travel Toiletries Containers

Clear Quart Size Bag
Having trouble finding your favorite shampoo or cream in a travel-size version? These TSA approved reusable containers are leak-proof and come in a set of 7, perfect for any kind of liquid. ($10.18)

AMMAX Leak Proof Squeezable Silicone Tubes
TSA approved squeezable silicone tubes, 100% BPA free food grade silicone. Perfect for gel-like products such as shampoo and conditioner. ($8.99)
Cleanser

SHISEIDO
Perfect Cleansing Oil
My personal favorite cleansing oil that I can’t live without. Cleansing oils are powerful as they effectively and gently melt off waterproof makeup, dirt, and oils without drying you out. This gentle cleanser is a great first cleansing step for all skin types and can be easily poured into a travel-size container. ($35.00)

Caudalie
Gentle Cleansing Milk
For sensitive skin types, this milky cleanser removes make-up from the face and eyes without drying you out. Skin is moisturized, clean, soft, and comfortable. ($14.00)
Exfoliant

KATE SOMERVILLE
ExfoliKate® Intensive Pore Exfoliating Treatment Mini
Above all exfoliant is a MUST when traveling. As I mentioned before, traveling puts stress on your face and can clog your pores up. An exfoliant is key, as it unclogs pores and washes away dead skin cells. This dual-action exfoliating scrub smooths and polishes skin to reveal a natural glow; lactic acid and fruit enzymes clean clogged pores in as little as one use. ($24.00)

FIRST AID BEAUTY
Facial Radiance Pads
If scrubs are too harsh for your sensitive skin, try gentle single-use glycolic peel pads. Glycolic acid is the holy grail of exfoliation and has the ability to really get down into the hair follicles and loosen up any built-up sebum and proteins that could otherwise lead to blackheads and breakouts. In small doses, it does wonders for sensitive skin. Use once a day for glowing skin. ($17.00)
Toner

CAUDALIE
Beauty Elixir
The smell of luxury. Inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s famous elixir of youth, Beauty Elixir is formulated with grape extracts and clarifying ingredients to provide an immediate burst of radiance. This clean toning mist can be used in your skincare routine to tighten pores or to set your makeup. Even throw it in your backpack for an instant skin pick me up when traveling. ($18.00)
Masks

Caudalie
Instant Detox Clay Mask
Instantly detox your skin with this clay mask. Whether you’ve just gotten off of a long flight or have been on vacation for a while and need a pick me up, this rose mask will tighten, brighten, and remove impurities from the skin. ($39.00)

Eve Hansen
Collagen Sheet Mask
Airplane air is extremely dry. Apply to face, 1 per 12 hours of traveling. Sheet masks offer deep hydration and repair. Yes, they do look funny for 10 minutes, but it beats having acne on vacation. ($20.98)
Moisturizer

Neutrogena
Hydro Boost Hydrating Water Gel
When choosing a hydrating moisturizer look for the ingredient Hyaluronic Acid. The holy grail of skin hydration. In other words, it helps your cells retain as much moisture as possible so that your skin feels and appears hydrated, plump and healthy. This water gel does just that and at a great price point. ($7.99)

PETER THOMAS ROTH
Water Drench Hyaluronic Acid
At 30% hyaluronic acid, this hydrating moisturizer will keep your skin plump and moisturized for up to 72 hours! ($22.00)
Eye Cream

CAUDALIE
VineActiv Vitamin C Energizing Eye Cream
A clean fragrance-free anti-wrinkle eye treatment to combat fine lines, puffiness, and dehydration after travel. ($39.00)
SPF

MISSHA
All Around Safe Block Face Essence Sun Milk SPF50
The only face SPF you’ll ever need. Water and sweat-resistant so it won’t get into your eyes, this essence sun milk hydrates and cools off skin affected by the harsh sunlight. ($19.00)

Neutrogena
Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Body Sunscreen SPF 50
With hyaluronic acid, this sunscreen will not only deliver powerful broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection but will leave your skin hydrated. (14.99)
Acne Patches

Cosrx
Acne Pimple Master Patches
There’s nothing worse than waking up with a giant zit, much less on vacation. These patches clean your pores and reduce acne spots. Place a sticky patch over the area before bed. In the morning the blemish will be smaller and less inflamed. ($12.47)
Dry Shampoo

Kristin Ess
Fragrance-Free Dry Shampoo Powder
This non-aerosol oil absorbing dry shampoo powder is great for those travel days where you want to skip a wash and still look great.
Deodorant

Each & Every
Natural Deodorant
Natural deodorant with no aluminum, parabens, synthetic fragrance, baking soda, or gluten, and it really works! With twelve luxurious scents such as Citrus & Vetiver, it’s hard to choose just one. The full size is travel friendly at 2.5oz for $15.00. Or choose four minis for $20.00.

Pacifica Beauty
Underarm Deodorant Wipes
These wipes are aluminum-free and made of natural fiber
formulated without SLS, sulfates, parabens, and petroleum. An easy on-the-go solution to deodorizing that leaves a subtle scent when showering is not an option. ($8.99)
